Éric Gervais’s career is a remarkable testament to steadfast allyship and an unwavering commitment to gender equality. For over 30 years, he has championed women’s health, dedicating himself not only to advancing the field but also to supporting the careers of women within it. As employee number one of a Quebec-based pharmaceutical company in the early ’90s and now President and majority owner of Duchesnay Pharmaceutical Group, Eric has consistently led by example. His executive team includes five women leaders alongside two men, embodying his commitment to placing women in key leadership roles.

In the past five years alone, Éric has successfully recruited three women into essential VP positions, significantly influencing Duchesnay’s growth and culture. Under his leadership, the company was selected for Canada’s Global Hypergrowth Project cohort, marking it as a future cornerstone of the national economy. Further emphasizing his dedication to gender equality, he supported efforts for Parity Certification™ by Women in Governance, a milestone achieved just weeks ago.

Beyond organizational leadership, Éric’s impact includes groundbreaking contributions to women’s health innovation. As the inventor of over six women’s health drug patents with approvals across more than 40 countries, he has advanced treatment options on a global scale. Currently, he is focused on identifying critical gaps in women’s health research, advocating for increased funding and enhanced support through discussions with Health Canada.

Through the 2024 Shine Bright Excellence in Allyship Award, Women Leaders in Pharms recognizes Eric Gervais as a true advocate and ally, honoring his transformative contributions to both women’s health and gender equality in the industry.
